I'm ready for my close up

Erin over at Work With What You've Got wanted a close up of the ring, so here you are! :)
I tried to get it as clear as possible!
It's a 1.1 karat blue topaz with .25 karats of diamonds around the band and the topaz.
I am completely in love with it :) He did a good job.

Wedding plans

So, I still have not found a wedding dress, but that's okay. We're moving to Columbus in 10 days, and I'll be in Portland in 19. So I have tons of time. There are basically no bridal, prom, formal shops in Roswell to even look, so I'm stuck with online. And online purchases of clothing scare me, let alone this would be my wedding dress! My soon-to-be-sister-in-law and I are going shopping in Columbus, and then when I get back home my bestie and I are going out shopping as well.

But look how cute this outfit is! I'm thinking of wearing it to the bridal shower or the bachelor/ette party! Black, white and red are my wedding colors, by the way!

I have most of the other wedding plans settled, just have to get a CD for music and buy some decorations for the ceremony and reception. My mom picked up favor boxes and bubbles. We're going to make the bouquets/boutonnieres the day before the wedding, then save some flowers so we have petals for the flower girls to throw. My mother-in-law is going to make the cupcakes for the wedding cake. I'm really excited, everything is basically done! Wowee, I didn't think it would be that quick, haha. I am still stressin', but ya know, when you plan a wedding in a month, that is going to happen. :)

MORE NEWS.

I'M ENGAGED!!

:)

We have been talking about getting married for a while, but never thought it would be this quick. With our families the way they are, they are insisting on an actual wedding rather than waiting a while. So, we're getting married on May 16th. Of 2009. That's 29 days away.

That is also 11 days after we are expected in Ohio. Yes kids, I am moving 1300 miles away and two weeks later, having a wedding. What. The. Heck.

Either way, look at this ring! It's so pretty! Blue Topaz. With diamonds around it. Also, we got Josh's ring today. Now I have to find a dress, and decorations, and everything AHHH! I'm going to go insane. Yah.

Life update!

Hey everyone. There are so many things going on in my life right now, I feel like you deserve an explanation. Chances are I won't be updating again for a couple weeks.

For starters, Josh and I are moving to Columbus, Ohio much soon than expected. Out last day in New Mexico will be May 2nd. Yes, two weeks from Saturday! We should be in Ohio by the 4th, and moved into to our apartment on the 5th. It's going to be a busy two weeks, with work and packing and just overall getting ready to go.

Another thing, my sister is currently in the hospital right now giving birth to my new nephew, Kai! I'm super excited for her, and have been waiting by the phone alllllll morning to hear news. Last I heard, her water finally broke and she was about to be induced. :)

My cousin is probably going to be engaged by the end of this summer. I haven't met his new girlfriend, but they are about in the same level as Josh and I. Known each other for a while, however just started dating. They are also living in separate states, just like Josh and I did during the summer. Which is odd, because Josh and I are basically engaged, just without the ring or the proposal! :)

Like I said earlier, these next couple weeks are going to be so hectic. We have to finalize things with the apartment complex, get some boxes from a local business, get everything here packed up, call the moving company and reserve our day, call the Ohio courthouse and finalize things with them, cancel our utilities here, get utilities there, put in my two weeks notice and see if maybe I can transfer, change our address, tell all the family... oi.

April fools, you get the flu.

Cami, BP by Nordstrom
Top, Forever21
Jeans, Wet Seal
Boots, Steve Madden
Necklace, Forever21

Yesterday was supposed to be a wonderful date night for my love and I. However, I decided to get the flu instead. I started getting sick on Friday, I felt a tickle in the throat. Wake up on Saturday, achey, fever, sore throat - basically, I feel like I am going to die. I stayed in bed all day, felt the same on Sunday morning. Went to work, then came back and went straight to bed again. By the end of the day, I was sick and tired of staying inside, haha! So, I chugged some Alka-Seltzer Flu medicine, popped a couple ibuprofen, and we went to dinner.

So, if you couldn't tell before, that is why my face and expression is completely dead, haha!

I am feeling a little bit better today, still really sore, but oh well.

Also, I dyed my hair a little darker, can ya tell??

Foundations

Let's face it, ladies. A bra can make or break your day. A good bra makes you feel sexy, powerful, and great about yourself. A bad bra - well, they can not only do everything opposite, but they can put you into some pain too. After working in lingerie for two and a half years, I saw the difference with not only costumers, but myself and my family. My mom has had back problems for years. She was also in the wrong size bra. When we got her a proper fitting bra, her back felt better, her clothes fit better, and she just felt better about herself. It was a wonderful job, very rewarding.

Now that I am living in a small town, 3 hours away from a town with legitimate stores, I wonder how many women really know their right size, or if they just hit the store and pick up whatever. Do you know that 8 out of 10 women are in the wrong size? Did you know a bra should be snug around the middle of your back? Did you know your underwire should hit under are arm pit on your ribs? You shouldn't feel tissue under there, just ribs.

Anyways, here are some facts for you if you don't already know:
The majority of women get a bra that is too small in the cup, so they go for a bigger band size, because heaven forbid you are a big cup size! Look at my pictures. I am a 32D. Believe it or not, that is what I am. I used to wear a 36B. Did you know that cup sizes are NOT universal? A 34B is not the same as a 36B? When you go up in band size, you go down in cup size. I used to tell my customers it was "bra math": a 34B is the same as a 36A or a 32C. DD or DDD's are average sizes. It freaks people out. They don't want to be that big. When really, it's NOT that big. Hell, I'm a D-cup. And I am no where close to Pam Anderson sizes.

A single bra has the life span of 6-9months. This INCLUDES stretching. It might look like it's fine, but bras stretch. I have bras that have lasted me years, but that's also because I literally have over 20 bras to rotate through. It's recommended that you have 4 to 7 in your wardrobe to rotate through. The more bras you have, the longer they will last. You shouldn't wear the same bra two days in the row, the elastic needs time to bounce back. A nude bra is much better than a white bra. A white bra will show up under white tops and the color will pop. Nude bras will blend into your skin (I've astonished many customers with this). A wired bra is not something to be scared of when you are nursing. Yes, wired bras are the main cause of mastitus, BUT that is because the cup is too small and it is hitting some of the main glands on the breast. Just get measured two weeks before your due date, or whenever after your give birth.

I am going on this rant because I want to know how many women out there reading this have gotten measured for a bra before. Whether it was at a department store or a lingerie shop, doesn't matter. If you haven't, I recommend you do. I never complain about my bras. Not even my strapless bras. I love my bras, they are so comfortable. I always hear women complain about there bra's and it breaks my heart! Haha, but yah. So, have you been fit??

PS. In other news, my friend back home at Nordies gave me a call the other day to tell me about a sale going on. I ended up getting two new bras. :) They are DKNY, my favorite style, in a new blue color and new nude to replace my old one that is too small (surgery made me gain weight, and in turn made my boobies get bigger... ) It made me happy. I love undies. They make me feel happy. My drawer is overflowing right now. If I get anymore, I'm going to need to use two of the three drawers in my dresser for just underwear. :)

I told you so.

Shirt, Fang
Purple cami, BP by Nordstrom
Jeans, Hudson

Lucky you, you get to see my laundry that needs to be done and my craft-infested coffee table. :)

I have a couple things to post. First, the outfit I wore today. After that, some little goodies I've bought the last couple weeks.

The shirt I am wearing today is something I got at Sears last night. It was the Friends and Family night, we got an extra 20% off on apparel. Josh got some slacks and red plaid shorts for less than $30. I got this shirt for less that $5, and a blue dress for less than $8. I'll try and get a picture of the dress, it's really, really cute. We also got a very exciting new garbage disposal. Yahhh, cool, huh? :)

Also, please ignore my hair. I just got back from a softball game in the freezing cold wind. Stupid New Mexico and your crazy winds...

A couple weeks back, Josh and I had to go to Albuquerque for three days for a high school basketball tournament (for you that don't know, Josh, my main squeeze, is a sports editor for the local paper). I got this AMAZING tee from Buffalo Exchange for $8.50. Heck yah, TRANSFORMERS! :) I was excited. I also got this gorgeous hounds tooth trench for $8.50. It was $17, and on the extra 50% clearance rack. I love it, it's exactly what I've been looking for. Pictures of that later, when I wear it.

Long time, no blog.

I will have an outfit post tonight. Promise. Cross my heart. I would say hope to die, but I don't wanna do that. :)

I don't want to give excuses but there has been lots of things contributing to my non-blogging the last month. One reason, I have been sick on and off this month. I think I've had two colds/stomach issues, allergies, and even a stye in my left eye. No fun! But I'm finally feeling better and healthy, yay! Another reason, I'm still at the same job, were we have clothes guidelines. It's lame, but I have days off too, so that should not be a reason to not post what I wear on those days.

So here I am, telling you the reader, that I am going to change and AT LEAST post 3 times a week. I PROMISE! If I don't feel free to message me with reminders. :) And like I said, I will have an outfit post tonight. I'm still in sweats and a tank right now. Yahhh, I'm lazy, whateva. :)

February 28th, 2009

My last outfit that I failed to post in a timely manner! Oh well, it's here, right? And that is what counts! :) I wore this outfit to another basketball game with Josh.

Cami, BP by Nordstrom
Cardigan, something from Nordstrom, I don't remember the brand
Scarf, yet again, BP by Nordstrom
Jeans, Hudson
Shoes, Sigerson Morrison at Target

This was a fun outfit. I really felt comfortable and cute in it! Especially with the scarf and shoes matching together so perfectly! And the big ol' rhinestones on the shoes... One of my faves for sure!

As a side note, please ignore all the nasty mess in the back ground! It looks a lot messier than it is. :)

February 27th, 2009

Another missed day.

February 27th, 2009.

Again, with the no shoes! But I did wear shoes during the day, I just took them off when I got home.

Cami, BP by Nordstrom
Shirt, Flounce
Cardigan, BP by Nordstrom
Jeans, Hudson
Shoes (not pictured), white sandals from Khols

I wore the cardigan most of the day, because Josh and I went out to dinner and went to a basketball game. However, the shirt has some really cute details on the sleeves. Of course, I failed to take a picture, but they are ruffles with rhinestones and sequins all over. Very cute! :)
